Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park –The Home of Mountain Gorillas
Pick up at the hotel in Kampala or Entebbe and your driver guide will take you up to Bwindi. It will be a long day drive journey which may last for 8-9 hours but comes with stopover opportunities, especially at the Equator crossing –have the best of photography moment with your dear ones and proceed to Igongo for lunch break.
From Igongo, drive up to Bwindi where you will check in at the lodge. Have great time relaxing at the lodge and prepare for the following day’s thrilling adventure –gorilla trekking.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast, then join the rest of the guests for briefing about gorilla trekking in Bwindi NP. It will be 2-6 hours of searching for the endangered mountain gorillas in the wild and considering the nature of habitat, your fitness level matters and also consider wearing sturdy waterproof hiking boots.
The park ranger guide will be available to lead you through the dense Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of the endangered mountain gorillas. At all times, you will be keeping a distance of 8-10m away from these apes. A maximum of an hour will be availed for you to enjoy a face-to-face encounter with a family of gorillas then you get back to the lodge for relaxation.
Day 3: Game drive in Ishasha sector to search for tree climbing lions and transfer to Northern Queen Elizabeth NP
A hot cup of tea/coffee be served to you in the morning and after, set off for Ishasha sector. Through the Ishasha sector, expect to enjoy the best of game drive and the main interest will be searching for the tree climbing lions and also get a chance to see topis. From Ishasha, get lunch in the wild and later, continue to the lodge in the Northern side of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge in Queen Elizabeth National Park, travel to Entebbe for overnight stay
Set off from your lodge and join other visitors for briefing at Kyambura Gorge. You will be accompanied by an experienced guide on a search for chimpanzees and along the way, expect to see other primate species and birds. A face-to-face interaction with Kyambura chimps will be had for a maximum of an hour then you get back to meet the driver guide.
From Kyambura, proceed to Entebbe where a night stay will be had. En-route, drive through Mbarara and expect to make a stopover at the Equator once again.
Day 5: Fly to Arusha in Tanzania, from Entebbe International Airport
You will have breakfast and then proceed to the airport to catch up with your flight to Tanzania. From Arusha, proceed to the hotel for relaxation.
Day 6: Transfer to Tarangire National Park for wildlife safaris
Pick up at the hotel and start your journey to Tarangire NP with Tanzania safari guide. Get to the park early and lunch will be provided at the lodge. In the afternoon, embark on a memorable wildlife/game drive to see plenty of Tarangire NP wildlife including elephants.
Day 7: Transfer to the Great Serengeti National Park for evening game drive
Drive from Tarangire N/Park to Serengeti National Park, the renowned destination for the Great Migration and big five game encounters. In the evening, expect to have the best of game drive to see several animals as they sum up their day and nocturnal species as they become active.
Day 8: Morning game drive in Serengeti National Park and drive to Ngorongoro Crater
Drive off from your respective accommodation prepared for your morning game drive through the plains of Serengeti National Park. Lots of savanna dwellers will be encountered from elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, antelopes and birds. After, drive back to the lodge or proceed to Ngorongoro if you checked out already.
Day 9: Full day game drives in Ngorongoro
After breakfast, leave the lodge ready for a full day game drive experience in Ngorongoro Crater. This is a complete big 5 game destination and expect to come across rhinos, elephants, buffaloes, lions, birds and also get the best of breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater views.
Day 10: Transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport
Following early morning breakfast, check out and your driver guide will transfer you up to Kilimanjaro Airport. From Kilimanjaro airport, you will take a flight back home and marks the end of the safari.
