Overview
Throughout this 6 days Uganda gorillas, chimpanzees and wildlife safari, travellers will be exploring the most intact tropical rainforests on the African continent while setting their eyes on awe-inspiring primate species especially the mountain gorillas and chimpanzees.
Travelers will also have the opportunity to experience the tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector of the magnificent Queen Elizabeth National Park. Various exciting exploration activities will be carried out on the trip to make it more satisfying especially the game drives, boat cruises, bird watching to enable the visitors view the beautiful East African endemic bird species not forgetting sightseeing at the breathtaking Kyambura gorge.
Visits to Katwe salt lake will be launched to enable the visitors have a glance at the hidden beauty of Uganda and immerse themselves into the processes of salt mining.
Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to your hotel in Entebbe.
The guests upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport will be picked up by a professional tourist guide. The tourist guide will help you transfer to the hotel in Entebbe where you relax and enjoy the views of the breathtaking Lake Victoria.
Delicious meals will be served to you as soon as you arrive. Enjoy the meals and relax in your units. You can as well walk around the compound as they enjoy the serenity of the environment. Dinner will be served later at sundown and you will have an overnight rest.
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National Park. the home of mountain gorillas.
Arise at the crack of dawn and get served a delicious breakfast as prepared by the team of professionals at the hotel. Check out of the hotel to embark on the transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National Park. The overall journey will take you approximately 10 hours and 33 minutes covering the 501.2 kilometer distance.
There will be a stopover at Kayabwe equator spot For you to enjoy the equator experience and Coriolis effect. You will grab some snacks at that site to keep you satisfied on the journey. There will be a lunch stopover along the way in Mbarara at Igongo Cultural Center where you will be served delicious local dishes.
Continue with the journey to Bwindi and on arrival, you will check in at the lodge. Relax in the premises of the lodge as you enjoy the views of the intact tropical rainforest. Dinner will be served later and you will rest overnight.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
At the first light of the day, the guests will be presented a mouth watering breakfast by the team of appointed staff at the lodging facility. Enjoy the breakfast in the golden hour and later meet the Rangers of the park who will brief you about the gorilla trekking activity.
The Ranger guides will then accompany you to the jungle to trek the gorillas. The tracking activity will take you approximately five to six hours depending on your speed and the location of the families. The activity will go on until afternoon when you will travel back to the lodge to get served delicious meals.
Undertake the transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park through the South. The journey to the park will take you through Ishasha sector, a renowned home to the tree climbing lions that you will marvel at the entire afternoon.
The overall journey will take you about 5 hours and 22 minutes for the 146.4 kilometer distance. Continue to the lodge in the park at sunset where you will have dinner and rest for the night.
Day 4: Morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park and afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel.
At first light of the day, the guests will be presented a well marinated breakfast by the catering team at the lodging facility. After breakfast, you will then undertake a morning game drive through the Savannah grasslands of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
They are a habitat to a variety of wildlife species that you will enjoy watching especially the leopards, hippos, serval cats, Bush elephants, impalas and beautiful birds. The game drive will end in the mid morning and you will head back to the lodge to relax and have a meal.
After the meal, you will embark on the drive to Kazinga Channel where you will conduct a boat cruise. The boat cruise will further help you observe more of the wildlife of the park especially the hippos. Enjoy cruising through the wild until sunset. Transfer back to the lodge to have dinner and rest overnight.
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura gorge and Katwe salt lake tour.
Wake up at cockcrow to get served a delicious breakfast as you start the wonderful day of exploration. After breakfast, you will then get on road and head to Kyambura gorge. It is a beautiful area in the outskirts of Queen Elizabeth national park.
Enjoy sightseeing at the scene and after embark on the chimpanzee trekking activities. Get briefed about the activity by the rangers and after continue to the jungle to meet the primates. The activity will continue until midday when you will travel back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will undertake the journey to Katwe salt mines. The tour to the salt mines will unveil another bit of the natural beauty of Uganda. You will be taught about the processes of salt extraction and how it is brought to the state of consumption. Travel back to the lodge at sunset to relax, have dinner and rest for the night.
Day 6: Departure to Kampala.
Arise in the morning at the time of your wish. Get served breakfast by the catering team and later check out of the facility. Undertake the drive back to Kampala after. The journey will take you about 7 hours and 6 minutes covering the 373.5 kilometer distance. Upon arrival in Kampala, you will continue to Entebbe International Airport to catch the flights back home
